Samurai Golf

In 1603 Tokugawa Ieyasu unified Japan, ending the Warring States period and established himself as shogun.

In his mission to bring order to a divided land he provided an outlet for his daimyos to measure their prowess and settle scores.

He created a game of emperors and princes, a sport rivaling war for its stakes, a means by which the mettle of young warriors could be tested.
